Payments and fees
Connect Stripe, set who covers the platform fee, and review how payouts work.
Before you enable paid tickets
- Connect Stripe. You'll be prompted when you enable paid tickets.
- Test checkout. Create a free ticket type and confirm the email looks right.
- Share timing. If you need to mention payout timing, add a message for guests on the event. It appears in every ticket confirmation.
Platform fee
A simple, transparent fee is applied per ticket before quantity.
9% of ticket price + $0.99
Applied to every paid ticket
• Discounts don't reduce the platform fee.
• Free RSVP tickets always show a $0 fee.
Who pays the fee?
You control this per event. Switch anytime; new orders will follow your latest choice.
Guest pays
Checkout adds a "Service fee" line on top of the ticket price.
I pay
Guests pay the ticket price only; the fee comes out of your payout.
Real‑world examples
Fee: 9% + $0.99 = $1.89 → Guest pays $11.89; your payout is based on $10.00 minus Stripe processing.
Fee: 9% + $0.99 = $5.94 → Guest pays $55.00; your payout is reduced by $5.94 (plus Stripe processing).
Payouts, refunds, and receipts
Payouts
Stripe sends funds on their standard schedule. Check exact dates on your payouts page.
Refunds
Start them from Orders on the Guests tab. Stripe handles the rest. Canceling an event does not refund guests.
Receipts
Guests receive a clean breakdown of ticket price and fees immediately after checkout.
